Hi there!
I was recently reading a great post on one of the many 'stardoll blogs' here on blogspot and this post really spoke to me. I love posts like this, I tend to remember them better and they stick with me because they make me think. Indeed, this is what that post made me do. This post was written by Amanda Stars from the blog Stardoll Fashion Daily. First I would like to say how much I enjoy this blog, the posts are always unique and creative, not generic or what you would tyically find on such a blog. Secondly I love the way Amanda writes, it's unique, unexpected, creative and well executed. Here is a link to the post: http://fashiondailystardoll.blogspot.com/2012/01/lacking-friendship.html
In her post Amanda talks about the deal of friendship on stardoll. She points out how Stardoll's logo is Fame. Fashion. Friends and yet we're lacking a whole lot in the friend department. Another good point she makes is about all these members saying they don't accept friend request (blank ones at that), they don't chat, block their guestbooks and things of those sorts . How many times have we seen these messages plastered all over member's pages? Too many times to count.
This is so true. Many of us stardoll members have hundreds of friends but how many of them do we actually talk to? I know personally I have over 200 friends yet, I only ever talk to one or two . There have even been times when others have tried to contact me yet I merely blow them off because I think they are annoying, they're half my age or I'm surprised they're even bothering to talk to me. Yes, I know I shouldn't but think to yourself about when you've done this, because, we all know we have.
Even the most popular members on stardoll who have dozens of friends and pages of comments aren't true friends with these people. Think about those pages of comments the majority of them are advertisments, votes for covergirl ("you're beautiful 5/5 <3....) and pleads to be voted for. Only few are true conversations.
I hope this makes you think as much as it did for me. As cheesy as it sounds, I think we all need to make a little bit of an effort to try and make stardoll a more friendly place.

Yeah, it's kinda sad, one time I was lonely on stardoll, and I said hey to some people and then they responded, and I was happy, until I saw their responce was just an advertisement :/ it's really too bad
