So, you probably remember earlier this year when Stardoll updated its Terms of Service. One thing that a lot of people liked was the following update:
"Writings and postings relating to serious problems related, but not limited to eating disorders, self harm, suicide etc are directed by Stardoll to sites and forums with grown up professionals especially trained to deal with this. Stardoll will publish appropriate links to local sites handling these kinds of serious problems."
I'm sure that not that many people have had problems with this, considering a lot of people do not want their private mental issues on the Internet. But I can assure you that it is not what they make it seem like.
I was talking to some close friends of mine in a club one day, and I mentioned some issues of my own. Someone reported it. I'm sure they meant the best, that they only wanted to get me help. But I got a warning and they told me not to do it again. Nothing other than that. I mentioned it, and the person confessed to reporting it and everything was fine. I forgot about it and it happened again. And again. Then I go on one day and I got an error message telling me that my account isn't active. I went on my email and it told me that my account had been deleted for breaking the rules. No links to appropriate sites. No help.
Gee, Stardoll, you'd think that if you say you're going to do something, you should do it, don't you think? And what do you think of this? Leave your opinion in the comments.
