I'm sorry for the complications, swimming season had just ended with a big tournament (International School Athletics Conference, otherwise known as "ISAC") and it lasted a long time, especially for those who had finals after the preliminaries (which would be me). But enough about me and on to the post!
We've seen a great deal of interviews with royalties and superstars, as well as bloggers and generally well known people. To get outside of the box, I decided to interview "commoner," the average non superstar who is interesting in her own way. I have interviewed my friend joandna. Please note the questions in bold represents me and the default script is the interviewee.
How did you come across Stardoll?
Long ago, one of my friends introduced me to it. We went on to dress-up celebrities and a few years later I made an account.
What is your take on "elites" on Stardoll?
Stardoll is much like today's tabloids: there are so many people who are in and out it's hard to keep up with. I know there's some harsh bullying towards the elites but I've been given the impression they are snobbish. I know mizzmileycyrus9 is an eleven year old boy who apparently has a good social life because he relies on hacking people on a girly website. I hope you catch my sarcasm.
What annoys you on Stardoll? What are your Stardoll pet peeves?
There are small things, such as how the daily poll's first option always has the most votes. It's just one of those things that makes me sigh. Then there's Stardoll's advertising. It really annoys me when they remind me to be a superstar for everything.
Why do you choose not to be a superstar?
Unlike some people, I find Stardoll fun but not addictive. I'm not interested in paying for a virtual life that is only a fraction of a percent related to my real life. Often times real life and virtual life intertwine and people have problems telling which from which. That's when it becomes unbalanced and a mess.
What is your sense of style? What are your favorite pieces?
My style is definitely not mainstream. I push the fashion limits where most girls would dare not to go. I love wearing neon and bright colors. My favorite piece would be my Hello Kitty romper.
Lastly, do you believe in the "hierarchy" created between Superstars and those who are not?
Like I said earlier, people become so wrapped up in being popular online, they begin to do anything to bring up their status. Stardoll is sort of like a high school. Most of the popular kids are hated but they are popular because they are pretty and make themselves important. This is not speaking for every individual. I've met some super cool superstars and those who are not.
Well many thanks to joandna for taking the time to fill out the interview. I'm very bummed out the swim meet was conflicting with this round. Thanks for reading.
Kisses,
baltimorej
